This ethics help journalist maneuver the cutthroat world of journalism.

One essential aspect of the code of ethics, is thorough reporting and investigation, before stories are published. This means not only conducting proper research but also authenticating information and sources beforehand. Journalists are often in competition to be the first to break a story, which can lead to faulty or incriminating stories being published. Being thorough means all perspectives of a story is considered, and multiple sources confirm facts before anything is published.

What is journalism if it's not fair? fairness in reporting is highly encouraged in the media diaspora. Journalists are a voice for the voiceless, and as such should uphold integrity and represent all people, no matter their religious beliefs, gender, sexuality or social standing. Journalists should be unbiased and present all relevant information to their audiences, in order for them to draw up their own opinions.

Journalism is plagued by bribery, threat's and even deaths. Being transparent can help a journalist reputation and keep safe from people with ulterior motives. Journalists should disclose any conflicts of interest, and being open about the sources they used. Journalists should be willing to face the music, when public scrutiny comes their way, and own up to what they've done wrong and apologize swiftly.

In conclusion, thoroughly researching and analysing, is a integral part of good journalism it is the only thing standing between a law suit and a award winning story. Considering all perspectives, working for the people and being transparent, will solidify the trust that our societies had in Journalism.
